The 1960 Chevrolet Impala returned as the "Jet Smooth Chevrolet" as descried in one o f the longest running Chevrolet ad campaigns. The ride comfort on the 1960 Impala was a result of coil spring suspension which was superior to the rear leaf-spring designs used by othe auto manufactures at that time.
Triple tail lights on each side returned after one year's absence. The sports coupe when equipped with the then $333 option - 348 cid special super turbo-thrust V8, that pumped out 335 bhp, was capable to make 0-60 mph in a mere 9 seconds
